Remove a drive bay blank

Use this procedure to remove a drive bay blank.

Before removing a drive bay blank:
  1. Read the following section(s) to ensure that you work safely.
  2. Remove the compute node (see Remove a compute node from the enclosure).
  3. Remove the compute node cover (see Remove the compute node cover).

Complete the following steps to remove a drive bay blank.

Watch the procedure. A video of the installation process is available:

  1. Orient the node so you can access the screw retaining the drive bay blank. Please refer to the following illustrations to find the correct orientation.
  2. Remove the screw as illustrated.
  3. Push the blank from the rear of the node (close to the backplane) towards the front to disengage it from the backplane.
