Each 60-drive controller shelf or drive shelf includes
two power canisters for power redundancy. If a power canister fails,
you must replace it as soon as possible to ensure that the shelf has
a redundant power source.
Prepare to replace power canister
You prepare to replace a power canister in a 60-drive controller shelf or drive shelf by collecting support data about your storage array and locating the failed component.
Remove failed power canister
You remove a failed power canister so you can replace it with a new one. When you remove a power canister, you turn off power, disconnect the power cord, and slide the component out of the shelf.
Install new power canister
You install a new power canister to replace the failed one. When you install a power canister, you slide the component into the shelf, close the cam handle, reconnect the power cord, and reapply power.
Complete power canister replacement
You complete the power canister replacement by confirming that the new power canister is working correctly. Then, you can gather support data and resume normal operations.
